Who Is Driving Your Life?

Who Is Driving Your Life?
This is not an easy question since most of us have different drivers in the various areas of life. For example, someone’s dad may be driving her work life because he always demanded that she work extremely hard with no breaks, and she still feels his incessant demands when working.
Someone’s mom may be driving his emotional life. He may hear her telling him, “You’re great just the way you are, don’t let anyone change you!” Perhaps he’s resisted people who try to help him become a better person or suggest that he work on himself. “Why can’t they just love and accept me as I am, like Mom?!”
Inner children may drive people’s marriages or romantic partnerships by wanting their partners to take care of them, whether financially or with cooking, cleaning, and affectionate companionship
Most of us have a large family of “people” living within us, which also include:
a rebellious teenager
an imaginative preschooler
an oppositional toddler
a passive infant who emotionally and mentally goes wherever he or she is carried.
Please spend some time sensing into your soul about who is driving you in each area of your life: infant, toddler, preschooler, child, teenager, your mom or dad, or your healthy whole soul?
Are you feeling happy, healthy, and fulfilled with this choice of driver?
